20022-W 5C AIR COLLET CLOSER

The 20022-W air collet closer is designed for welding applications. It can be adapted to a welding lathe spindle or rotary welding table. The collet closer is actuated with a four way air valve for air open, air closed operation. During the welding operation the air is valve is in a neutral position, this limits drag on light duty spindles. The unit can operate standard 5C collets, internal collet heads and oversized machineable collet heads. The unit is supplied with a 5C collet wrench. There are four 3/8-16 threaded holes 90 degrees apart on a 4.500” bolt circle for attaching to a fixture plate. The air ports are 1/8-27 pipe threads. |

- This air collet 20022, 20022-K, and 20022-W are designed to operate with a four-way air valve.
- The air lines must be held in place with a stud to the milling table and a bracket between the air fittings on the rotary collar. They must be able to float. The rotary collar must be able to center itself on the o-rings to avoid wear on the collet closer body.
- The collet closer should be installed with a regulator, filter, oiler unit (RFL) on the air feed line.
- The collet closer uses 60 to 80 lbs. of air pressure during machining operations. Higher air pressure does not necessarily translate to more holding power.
